INSURANCE

AETNA: We are an in-network provider with Aetna. If your plan covers lactation consultant services, you are likely eligible for up to 6 visits at no charge to you, including prenatal classes and visits. We accept all Aetna subsidiary plans except Medicaid, Allied Health, Wellnet and GEHA. If you have Aetna, please do NOT complete the Lactation Network pre-approval form. We will need to see your Aetna card at your visit.

CIGNA: We are able to accept most Cigna plans through our affiliation with Wildflower Health. For these plans, complete the Wildflower Health eligibility form at https://portal.wildflowerhealth.net/affiliate-care/d8755b5. If approved, 6+ visits are covered, including prenatal sessions.

For Cigna clients, there is a $50 home visit fee payable at the visit. We accept cash, check, credit card, Zelle or Venmo. Telehealth appointments are exempt from the fee.
 

UNITED HEALTHCARE/UMR/OXFORD:

For the following plans, our services may be covered by our affiliation with The Lactation Network (lactationnetwork.com):

     - most United plans, including UMR and Oxford

     - VA CCN (Veterans Administration Community Care Network) 
     - any carrier with a PNOA (Provider Network of America) logo
     - any carrier with the Multiplan logo on the card except Cigna
For these plans, please complete the online Lactation Network pre-approval form at https://go.lactationnetwork.com/BranchburgLactation . You should hear within 24 hours if your plan is approved. If approved, 6+ visits are covered, including prenatal sessions. 

BCBS plans approved on or before 7/14/25 are covered but no new approvals are being processed.

For TLN clients, there is a $50 home visit fee payable at the visit. We accept cash, check, credit card, Zelle or Venmo. Client matched to us by TLN are exempt from the admin fee, as are telehealth appointments.

OUT-OF-NETWORK FEES (BCBS AND OTHERS)

If you are not covered by Aetna or did not receive coverage approval from Lactation Network or Wildflower Health, you will need to pay out of pocket for your appointment. This includes Blue Cross Blue Shield, Magnacare, Amerihealth, Emblem and Aetna subsidiaries Allied Health, GEHA and Wellnet. However, we can provide documentation for our clients to seek reimbursement from their plans. Please contact your carrier directly for details. In many cases, the cost of a consultation can be applied to a Health Care Spending Account as well.

In most cases, Horizon BCBS will reimburse for two visits at 100% on the back end but you will need to contact Horizon directly to confirm specifics for your plan.

Payment is accepted by cash, check, Zelle (dana@branchburglactation.com), Venmo (@branchburglactation), Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express (including HSA card).
 

Initial In-Home Lactation Consultation (90-120 minutes): $300 ($200 for telehealth)

• For families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties, such as latch challenges, nipple pain, concerns about production, etc.

Follow-Up In-Home Lactation Consultation (30-60 minutes): $200 ($125 for telehealth)

• For families who have already had an initial consultation and would benefit from more in-person support.

Back-to-Work Session (30-60 minutes): See initial and follow up consultation above for pricing

• Topics include pumping, working with your childcare provider, maintaining milk supply, breastmilk storage and bottle refusal.

Prenatal Consultation (60-90 minutes): $200

• For specific breastfeeding concerns or challenges looking to map out a plan to get things off to the right start. Includes a copy of the book  "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding."

All services are 50% off for families who are enrolled in WIC or Medicaid eligible. We do a limited amount of discounted or pro bono consults for cases of financial need. Please email dana@branchburglactation for details if you need services but cannot afford to pay.

Unlimited email follow-up support for basic questions is included with all consultations. More complicated situations or situations requiring in-person assistance may necessitate a follow up appointment.
