"The greatest joy is nursing one's own baby.

The second greatest is helping another woman to nurse hers."

Alana Dambrot, IBCLC

Experiencing difficulty breastfeeding her daughter led Alana to seek help and evenutally find a passion in supporting others through their infant feeding journeys. Being a mother and bonding with her children through breastfeeding was one of her greatest joys. She is thrilled to be able to help others do the same.

Alana is a New Jersey native and a magna cum laude graduate of Vassar College with a BA in Economics. She left her career as a marketing research consultant to focus on raising her three daughters. After benefitting from the parent-to-parent support of La Leche League, Alana became an accredited Leader and continues to serve in this volunteer capacity. She obtained her IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) credential in 2021. Anna Spitaleri, IBCLC

I am an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, (IBCLC) since 2021 and Certified Lactation Counselor, (CLC) since 2020. I also have clinical experience in a hospital setting.

My goal is to provide ongoing support and encouragement to breastfeeding parents during prenatal and postpartum stages of pregnancy using knowledge, compassionate care, listening skills and the ability to help educate parents about the benefits of breastfeeding in order to help them achieve their breastfeeding goals.

I received my BSc. Honors degree in Sports Science from the University of Chichester, England. I am a member of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) and the NJ Breastfeeding Coalition. I am also passionate about supporting and encouraging breastfeeding for mothers and babies through "Hands Up for Haiti," a humanitarian organization delivering lifesaving healthcare to the sickest and most impoverished people in northern Haiti.

When not spending time with breastfeeding families, I am grateful for time with my family and friends. I find joy in simple things and I love to be outside.

Alba Lucia Thomas, IBCLC

Alba Lucia has provided bilingual lactation support, education, and encouragement in the Central New Jersey area for over 15 years. Alba Lucia has worked at Mercer County WIC, volunteered with Choice One, was a member and Leader of La Leche League for over 10 years, and will soon be working at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center.

Coming to the United States as a teenager from Colombia, Alba Lucia graduated from  Rutgers University with a BS in Computer Science and a MS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina. After being a Software Engineer for 12 years at a leading telecommunication company, Alba Lucia had the privilege of staying home with her four children whom she breastfed including tandem nursing twice, and homeschooled for many years. When her first baby was born, Alba Lucia was determined to breastfeed him despite the many difficulties she faced after his birth. A lactation consultant came alongside her to teach, encourage and walk with her during this trying time. This experience led her to appreciate a lactation support person's love, compassion, and knowledge. This inspired her to become a leader and advocate for breastfeeding mothers and their babies.

Alba Lucia is a member of the United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA), the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA), and the New Jersey Breastfeeding Coalition (NJBC). Alba Lucia helps Spanish-speaking mothers who can’t afford lactation support in the Central NJ Area and volunteers as a Financial Coach for her church along with her husband Stephen. They are the proud parents of 4 children, a Lab, and two goldendoodle dogs.
